Kitchens & bathrooms

The two rooms where the finish shows most.

Kitchens and bathrooms pack more trades into a small space than any other room: plumbing, electrics, plastering, tiling and joinery, all in a fixed order. When separate firms do each part, the gaps between them are where jobs go wrong.

We run the whole job on one programme. We can supply and fit, or fit units and sanitaryware you have bought from your own supplier.

What we fit

Kitchens

Full strip-out, new plumbing and electrics, plastering, units, worktops, splashbacks and flooring.

Bathrooms and en-suites

New layouts, sanitaryware, showers and baths, with full wall and floor tiling.

Wet rooms

Level-access showers with the floor laid to falls and fully waterproofed before any tile goes down.

Tiling

Wall and floor tiling in ceramic, porcelain and natural stone, including decorative and patterned layouts.

The process

How a kitchen or bathroom job runs.

01

Visit and written quote

We measure up, check the existing pipework and wiring, and send an itemised written estimate.

02

Strip-out and first fix

The old room comes out and new pipework, wastes and cables are run to the new layout.

03

Plastering and tiling

Walls are made flat and sound, wet areas are waterproofed, and the tiling is set out so cuts fall where you won't notice them.

04

Second fix and handover

Units, worktops, sanitaryware, taps and appliances are fitted and tested, and we hand over the electrical and gas certificates.

Common questions

Kitchens & bathrooms: what people ask us.

Can you fit a kitchen or bathroom I have bought myself?

Yes. We fit units and sanitaryware from your own supplier as well as supplying and fitting. Tell us what you have ordered and we will check the delivery against the plan before we start.

Who does the gas and electrical work?

By law, gas work must be carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer, and new circuits or electrical work in a bathroom must be certified under Part P of the building regulations. That work is done by registered trades and you receive the certificates at the end.

How long will I be without a kitchen or bathroom?

As a rough guide, a bathroom takes one to two weeks and a kitchen two to three, longer if walls are moving or worktops are being templated. Where there is a second toilet or we can keep a sink working, we plan the job around it.

Do I need planning permission or building control?

Refitting a kitchen or bathroom in the same room does not normally need planning permission. Building regulations apply to new electrics, new drainage and ventilation, and to any structural change such as removing a wall.
